22nd November – Central London

The Balkans and Sofia Video

We have been visiting the Balkans, the countries that used to be behind the iron curtain and have or now want to join the EU. Having spoken in Hungary and Bulgaria I was interested to see Croatia, Serbia and Romania.

What did we notice? We were surprised to see remnants of the Balkan war. Shrapnel and bullet holes on apartment blocks in Croatia, the remains of a building in central Belgrade that was targeted by a NATO bomb, Tito’s palace. Tito the amazing negotiator, President of Yugoslavia who for 40 years held the countries together, that formed Yugoslavia. He tended to ignore instructions from the Soviets.

Whilst in Bulgaria I also made a promotional video clip for the masterclass I am running in Sofia in October. The fifth time I will have been invited back.

I expect I will be interviewed on breakfast television about how important negotiations are in the difficult climate of 2018, with Trump, Brexit and tariffs on the agenda. Click here.
