Time Management = Energy Management
August 27, 2010
We only have so many hours in a day. In fact probably only 16 as most people need between 7 and 8 hours sleep. One of the biggest complaints that people have is I don’t have enough time. However I say its all about managing your energy. How much energy does a project, a piece of work deserve for the pay back, the result or the outcome you will get. Out of the 16 hours you will have energy rhythms – called Circadium rhythms, where you have highs and lows. Totally natural, they have a high and a low every 90 minutes – bit like the tide going in and out, a naturally occuring phenomenom. So notice your best times of day for high energy work, notice your low times of day for the low energy work, takes breaks to recharge your batteries and focus on the important stuff that gets you results. Negotiate your time sensibly with yourself.
