Three Wise Business Women – action works

Last night I moderated the Challengers Champions Business Club at Spectrum in Guildford. Our speakers who I had the pleasure of interviewing and questioning were -

Gill Craig – founder and Chairman of Whiteoaks the “technology PR agency” rated number 1 outside London and No 6 by PR week in the whole country. What we learnt from Gill was her philosophies for success in her business life  -

1 – Always employ people who know more than you do.

2 – Hire on attitude, teach skills.

3 – If you cant buy an asset with cash – don’t buy it, wait until you can.

Gill is an amazing high achiever who is growing her agency 18 years on in the middle of the recession.

Sharon Entwistle – a PR pro who is a senior client relationship manager at Whiteoaks. Sharon wowed a slightly scepitcal audience with the reasons why and how you need to blog, tweet and use social media. An expert in her field and someone who believes passionately in what she does. Look at her tweets @whiteoaksPR

April Blanchard – who describes herself as someone who gets into the minds of consumers, and therefore discovers how they think and feel, calculating for her clients what will sell and what will not. For examples most consumers are women – Mums giving children Weetabix rather then Coco pops makes them feel much better in that they are doing the best for their children. April with her business, combines being a Mum to her children and her disabled son, who uses Challengers], great job.  Emotions sell.

What a brilliant idea DisabilityChallengers have come up, combining business education with raising funds to help disadvantaged children. DC have made me their President, what an honour from a fantastic organisation.
