Networking and Negotiating – Power
June 1, 2011
My business partner Will Kintish is the UK’s expert on Networking. Networking is crucial for “Power Negotiating” because networking gives you greater access to information. In Negotiating information is power. See the Kintish tips below -
There are many ways to build relationships and get people to like you but one of the best methods, which most people dismiss, is to remember peoples’ names. ‘I forget their name in seconds’ or ‘I’m not bad with faces but I’m just terrible with names’, are phrases I hear regularly. If there is one action you can take to show the other person you see them as important when talking to them is to remember their name.
If you want to improve your ability to remember names, you must first change your attitude by realising the importance of doing it. Your improvement in remembering names depends largely on how strongly you want to do it.
Increase this want by constantly reminding yourself remembering names will:
1. Enhance your popularity.
2. Help you in your business or profession.
3. Help you win friends.
4. Impress everyone around you.
5. Help you practice the Golden Rule by “doing unto others….
6. Prevent embarrassment when you have to make an introduction
7. Show the level you are genuinely interested in other person.
