Ryanair haults UK growth because of APD – Air Passenger Tax
June 25, 2009
Michael O’Leary, CEO of Ryanair is known for his hardball negotiation tactics. You can almost daily see his negotiating, haggling and marketing in the press. The Daily Telegraphs reports his latest round of negotiation at regional airports that need work and local flights. He is halting growth due to the unrealistic new green taxes on flying.
On the same subject of transport, Peugeot are refusing to pay retrospective port dues going back to 2005 which the government have imposed at Sheerness. These “megaphone negotiations” positioning for power in the media, are a constant feature of the recession. Sensible win win win outcomes need to be achieved for the benefit of everyone.
