Euro 2008 and the football negotiation season is with us. Lets have a look at what you do if a footballer is not for sale. I am going to examine the issue between Ronaldo and Manchester United. “Real Madrid’s negotiating tactics”
1 – You secretly approach the player and plant seeds in his mind.
2 – You then leak it to the press.
3 – The press then get favourable quotes from family and friends and future teammates
4 – Hopefully the contracted club (in this case Manchester United) react angrily which cause animosity between the club and the player.
The rest is history. It becomes very difficult for the relationship between the club and the player to continue. The football agents have the most to win with huge fees.
