“Do you have a watertight contract” – these were the words I heard down the gym this evening. “No I have a verbal agreement, that is good enough for me” When negotiating, a contract can get you into a stronger position but it certainly won’t guarantee your money, when we are negotiating in the credit crunch. Check what is in your contracts, do you have the right wording. If you rely on a “Chinese contract” a handshake, then make sure you are SURE that the person will stand by their obligations.
