Negotiate in hotels
September 6, 2011
There are a lot of words in the US which don’t translate into English. The word “Comp” means complimentary.
At the Professional Speaking Convention in Los Angeles I was up at 4.00am the first morning with a serious dose of jet lag – so I thought I would catch up on my emails. $14 dollars a day for internet, well after some negotiations and some fun, Kate the receptionist decided to make it “Comp” however it took me a while to realise it meant complimentary – $70 dollars saved over 5 days.
. What have you saved this month? Be confident, be collaborative and be cheeky – occasionally
