Every problem is an opportunity – failure is one step towards success.Take a look at these examples – what would have happened if these people gave up. What will happen if you give up – nothing.
Jo Murray was rejected by publishers 333 times before one publishing company printed 1000 copies. George Orwell was told it was impossible to sell animal stories in the US. John Creasey had 743 rejections before he had a book published. Mozart’s music teacher told him he was hopeless at composing. This was a review of Starwars “The only way Starwars could be exciting is through its visual effects – and they are hopeless” The book Moby Dick was described as the most trash I have ever read, by an eminent critic. Walt Disney lost his job at a newspaper office because he was told he had no good ideas. Fred Astaire was told he couldn’t sing, couldn’t act and was balding at 27.
What does all this rejection mean for us. No one knows what or who will be successful. What kept these people going. They have utter self belief in themselves and their ideas.
So what should we do to avoid being rejected. We are achievers. We are going to be successful. We have to know what we really want. We have to know what we have to do give up to achieve our goal. You have to set your own rules on how to handle rejection. If you get a no – the answer has to be “No not YET” not No. Also when you are rejected analyse who is doing the rejection. You have to leverage your rejection. Reject your rejections.
Jo Murray is the second rich female entertainer in the world. Ranked only after Oprah Winphrey, she is of course JK Rowling. Today take one step on the road to your success, negotiate with yourself to give time and energy to your success.
